The first weekend in Colorado was relaxing and fun
all at the same time. We hung out at the pool, went to
a town up in the mountains called Winterpark to see
snow and go sledding, and spend some time at my older
brother's house in Colorado Springs. We enjoyed
just catching up with family, a good start to the summer.
We drove to Winterpark to play in the snow, but the
snow was actually pretty melted. We stopped in town
to play at a cool park since the drive was long and then
we headed back down the mountain. We saw some
snow on the side of the road and just decided to pull
off and try a little sledding. Not such a smart idea.
The snow was slush and we just got really wet and dirty.
We still had a good time throwing snowballs and laughing
at each other falling hip deep in the snow.
Kayla playing queen and making Keeley pull her.
This is my brother Doug and his wife Charlene with the
girls. We went out for lunch at a place called the
"Hungry Bear Restaurant" It was a filling down home
cooking kind of place up in the mountains.
We spent the night at my brother's house and just relaxed.
We went to the park and walked the dogs. That was the
girl's favorite part of the weekend. They just loved the dogs
to DEATH! By the end of the weekend, the dogs were in
hiding. The girls couldn't get enough.
A beautiful sunset in Colorado Springs.
My sister Charlene just being a kid!
Kayla and her cousin Weston. Yes, cousin!
The girls didn't bring a swimsuit for the weekend and
since my niece Morgan works at Old Navy, we went
to get them a swimsuit. I couldn't talk them out of
getting their first bikinis. They were so proud of them
they had to strut around all day and even put on a
fashion show for the whole family. They were adorable!
