Fall Break 2010

For fall break my sister Kelly and my nephew Brandon
came to Hawaii to visit with us.  It was Brandon's first
trip away from his parents and he didn't get too homesick
as far as I know.  He was a good kid and helped out with
the girls more than was his duty.  Thanks for that Brandon.
We went all over the island of Oahu playing and having a
great time.  Thanks for that Auntie Kelly!  Thank goodness
it was a really hot week and we were able to enjoy the
beautiful Hawaiian waters.  Such a great vacation even
though I didn't go anywhere. These pictures aren't in the
order we did them in but you get the point.  It was FUN!
Here we are downtown going parasailing.  Brandon and
Kayla decided it wasn't for them and the boat drivers
allowed Haley and Keeley to go two times, once with
me and once with Auntie Kelly.  They were scared but
really enjoyed it and were glad they did it!  Way to go girls!

I have to let you all know though...it was really choppy
and we all got seasick.  However, noone actually
upchucked.  We had to drive home in traffic right after
and that made us even more sick.  We didn't even want
to eat dinner that night.  Needless to say, we took
seasick pills on our boat trip to see the sharks!
Below are some pictures of our last day at Bellows.
It was super windy and the waves were intense but that
didn't stop us from having a blast.  Here are some fun pics.

Of course the girls were inlove with their cousin and
would not leave him alone.  They wanted to cuddle with
him and hang out with him.  Thankfully he was a good
sport about it.  I guess he is used to having a little brother
hanging on him all the time.  He wasn't quite sure about
the girls though.  He couldn't quite understand why they
loved him so much.  He hasn't seen them since they were
about 18 months old...they loved him then too!

One night we tried out the Wii fit plus game.  We played
everything on the game.  The kids loved yoga and the
penguin game.  Fun times!
We went to Pearl Harbor and I was a little annoyed with
the place this time around.  I didn't like the way they rebuilt
it all and everything has changed. There was a lot of
construction going on and it was a bit frustrating.  We had
to park a ways away and then you couldn't even bring your
purse into the park.  You had to pay $3 for them to hold
every bag including my camera case.  The museum isn't
free anymore and the movie was played in an outdoor cover
where you couldn't even see the screen.  I am sure it will be
alright once they finish all their construction but I wasn't
happy with my visit.  We still enjoyed ourselves for the
most part.  Brandon liked seeing all the boats out there.
Looking for sharks in the water!

We went to Sea Life Park.  Super hot day! We were really
hot and tired by the time we left.  We did get to see a cute
sea lion show and a cool dolphin show.  The touch pool was
under construction and a lot of the animals that used to be
there when I worked there are gone.  The tanks are in need
of some serious help and visible creatures.

We cooked up some steaks for dinner and then had
enough coals to roast marshmellows.  The girls loved that!

This was our shark dive day.  I was worried that Brandon
would chicken out but once he got out there and saw the
sharks he was excited to get into the water.  Way to go!
It was such a calm beautiful morning.  We all had such a
good time and were back on land by 9am to enjoy the rest
of the day.  We went to Ko'Olina and snorkled with the
turtles and stopped to pick up some souvineers.  I don't think
there was a day we didn't get into the water?
There aren't any pictures of it but we also went to the
water park and swam on North Shore.  Keeley got a jellyfish sting
for a souvineer that day.  We got shave ice
and even enjoyed a little Ted's Bakery.  Kelly and
I also went on a night dive off the west side. It was a funfilled
and relaxing week on Oahu.  Thanks for everything gang!
Kelly and Brandon are welcome back anytime.

My Little Princess

Haley was obsessing about getting her hair
curled for school and so I decided to go all out.
She wore one of her new adorable dresses and
I did her hair up. It turned out so cute I had
to take a picture. She reminded me of the little
girl on the the movie "The Little Princess."

2010 First Day of School

Haley is now in second grade.  How did she get here?
She started a week before the twins started school.
She finally got to be in a class with her friend Mia after
three years at the same school.  When I picked her up
that day I asked her how school was and if she liked
second grade.  She said, "I wish tomorrow was Saturday."
So I take it she wasn't thrilled to be back in school.
The twins on the other hand were a little upset with the
fact that they had to wait an entire week until they got
to go to school and be big girls.
The twins finally got their moment in the spotlight and
were more than thrilled to be big girls.  Keeley woke
up first thing in the morning and said, "Mommy, let me
pick out my own clothes, I am a big girl now."
I did intend for them to wear similar clothing even though
their teacher told me to dress them differently.  Too bad
for her.  She will just have to learn to tell them apart.
They look totally different anyhow!  What's the big deal?
I had to fight and convince the school to put them in
the same class.  The policy is to separate them but that
was not on my agenda for more than one reason.
There happen to be two other sets of twins in Kindergarten
this year and both of those twins got separated.  I am
very happy I made a fuss.  Thanks to all the teachers
for agreeing to accommodate my wants for my children.
Kayla said in the car on the way to school, "This is
the best day ever."  They were so excited!
Keeley decided she had an instant best friend with the
little girl sitting next to her, Kloe.  She was so happy
to have a new friend they played together all day.  She
was a little upset when she didn't get to eat lunch at
school or ride the bus home though.  It was only a half day.
I watched them for a few minutes and noticed that Keeley
already takes after the Burch family and sticks out her
tongue when concentrating.  Is that my girl or what?
Congratulations girls.  You are now all grown up like Haley!
Mommy is going to miss her angels and might even cry once
in a while.  Love you!
