A day in San Francisco

My sister, Kelly, and I decided to take a day to ourselves and

enjoy the sites of San Francisco without children. First we had

to get to the BART and ride it to the Alcatraz tour on pier 33,

which no one told us it was at least a mile from the BART stop.

We almost missed our booked trip but made it right in time.

We took a couple of hours listening in on the history of Alcatraz

and then headed back to the pier for some grub. We decided

to go with the all famous sour dough bread rolls and clam chowder.

We also got some yummy coconut shrimp and afterwards walked

another mile down to Ghirardelli Square to get some ice cream

and chocolate. We were pooped by this time and just wanted to

get on the BART and go home, but now we were miles from the

right BART station. So we decided to take the public bus back and

on our way got a really thorough sightseeing tour through China town.

Thanks for the fun day Kelly. I always love spending time with you.

You will always be my favorite traveling partner!

"How much?"

After the wedding weekend we decided it would be fun to take the
girls to go see a 3D movie since we don't really get a chance to see
3D in Hawaii. Little did I know it was going to cost $43.00 even
after having two free tickets for Aaron and I. They charged us
$4.50 each for Aaron and I even after the free tickets and then
$11.75 for each child, matinee price. Going to a movie isn't worth
it anymore. It isn't even that much in Hawaii. Why is California
so much more expensive? It was a cute movie and we enjoyed
it, but it would have been just as cute and enjoyable for $18 with
the benefit of watching it over a million times at home.

Almost late!

On Saturday we were supposed to be at the wedding chapel
in of the casino at 3pm exactly. They book the weddings back
to back and there is no time for delays. We got there at about
5 minutes to 3pm and the lady outside told us we had to wait
in the foyer for the next wedding. I told her we were supposed
to be there at 3pm for the Nadig wedding. Then she told us
that wedding was at 3:30pm. I said, " I am pretty sure it was
at 3:00." So anyhow we went and sat down. Five minutes
later Rudy came out and told us that we were missing the
wedding. Someone needs to fire that woman. We made it in
time to see them say "I Do" and that was it. I would have been
really annoyed if we had missed the entire ceremony. Everything
worked out and we just had to endure the embarrassment of
having the entire Nadig Family walk in late. Sorry Matt and Katalia.
Congratulations you two, I mean three!
We missed the walk down the isle.

The "I Do's."

The girls are viewing the dance floor. Sleepy girls!

This crazy little Asian boy kept trying to hit on the twins.
Sorry bud, give it a few more years and try again!

Auntie Marlo was so sweet to Haley the whole weekend.
She gave her tons of attention which we all know Haley loves.
Thanks Auntie, you are the best!

Didn't like the salmon Kayla? Me either!

Mommy trying to dance with the girls. I have lost my groove!
It was a great wedding and fun weekend. Thanks everyone
for making us welcome and spending time with us. We love you all.

30 degrees and altitude sickness!

A day after we got to San Ramon we headed up to Tahoe.
We got our own little condo with three huge beds. Thanks
to Grandpa Doe and Peggy. That was awesome!
Grandma Leslie and Papa had rented a big beautiful cabin
that everyone hung out in and ate BBQ. We spent a lot
of time at that cabin over the weekend. We had such a
great time. The only problem was that we were freezing
in the 30 degree weather and ended up with altitude
sickness all weekend. I just could not shake that headache.
The girls enjoying their queen size bed.
Haley got her own too.
Uncle Ben being a goof. The Nadig boys like to pretend
they are the cool guys in the crowd, but they are all just
big nerds! Got to love them though.
Papa Rudy and Jennie and sweet Taylor.
Frank and Cynthia entertaining Charlie!
"Cute blankie Frank"
Beautiful Katalia endulging in the strawberries, YUM!
Marlow our other sister is in the background. Caught you!
Grandma Leslie with Kayla and Keeley.
Twins vs. Twins....who is who?
answer: Matt, Kayla, Marc, Keeley!

Jet of the Month!

The last day of school for Haley wasn't really a day of school.
We were flying out to San Francisco on June 3rd and she just
happened to be the Jet of the Month at school for the month
of May. We had to fit in one last assembly before we boarded
the plane. The actual last day of school I cried. It was a bigger
deal for me to see her last day of kindergarten than it was her
first day of school. I think it was harder for me to imagine her
going into first grade than kindergarten because you are still
young when in kindergarten. When you get to first grade you
are such a big girl. That just made me sad. My little Haley is
growing up too fast. I am so proud of her. Congratulations on
being the Jet of the Month Haley!!! Mommy is loves you.

Enjoying playtime

The sun was out and the girls and I decided to get outside
and enjoy it a little. We pulled out all the laundry buckets
and filled them with water, turned up the tunes and had
ourselves a little swim party. It was good fun and the girls
were really entertaining, better than any t.v. program.
They were making up dances and pretending they were
growing flowers out of a pot. As you can see, even though
it was warm outside, Kayla still got cold. We had a great
time together and I realized that the girls did get a little
of their mother's craziness. Thank heavens for that!
