This year I was really disappointed that we couldn't go
to the mainland and spend Christmas with family, but
lucky for me, some of our family came out here for
New Years Eve. We got to spend two great days with
Aaron's Uncle Gerry and Aunt Nancy and cousins Sara
and Jenn and Adam. They are so great and we had so much fun.
I am certain it was the most fun and entertaining New Years
Eve I have ever had in my life!!! They had all kinds of
fun things ready for us and my girls. What great sports.
Thanks for the fantastic time and entertainment. We really
enjoyed spending time with you guys and getting to know
you all better. We are appreciative of your hospitality.
They were renting a place in Kailua and we got to go
over and swim in their pool. We played noodle wars for
quite a while. The girls had a blast.
"Get 'em girls!"
We went down to the beach to play too. They built the
best castle ever. I think Adam and Sara were more
proud than the girls were. Good job guys!
They were right down the beach from Obama. At the
other end of the beach there were tents set up and
special agents sitting outside. They wouldn't let you
get near his house. Aaron and Gerry are so cute!
Wait, is Aaron on the phone? Who are you talking to?
Body surfing on a cloudy day. I think it most of the night
and then cleared up just in time for the fireworks at
midnight! It was quite a fun evening.
After cleaning up from the beach we got ready for dinner.
We had a beautiful dinner of lamb, roasted potatoes and
salad. Couldn't have been more delicious. Thanks Nancy!
We had a night filled with fun activities. This was our
dance party. "Show us the moves girls."
This was a little candy hunt set up for the girls outside.
They just hid candy like eggs for Easter and the girls
went looking for it. This is their loot.
This was a hat making contest. You grab whatever you
can find and make a hat out of it. I think I ended up with
a mini Christmas tree on my head. We were wound up
and it was a fun and quite hilarious activity.
Here is Gerry with a towel on his head. The game we
were playing now was charades (Christmas Carols).
I was horrible, but seeing how Adam and Jenny are
singers, they got every single one. I thought I knew
a lot of Christmas carols but I was sadly mistaken.
I felt like a Christmas loser after this game. I will
really have to expand my Christmas song playlist so
next time I can kick some Nadig booty. The girls had
so much fun. I wish I was this creative and entertaining
on a regular basis. They were so stoked about the fun
and attention that they couldn't stop asking about Sara
for over a month. They even went home and named all
their favorite stuffed animals Sara. We love ya Sara!
This was our last game of the night. Duck Duck Goose!
Yes, we played it at about 1:30am and the girls were still
wired. I think they were out about two minutes into the
drive home though. HAPPY NEW YEARS NADIGS!
