Easter so SOON?

Okay...our Easter week was crazy. We did something just about
every day of the week and let me tell you, I was really exhausted.
So exhausted in fact, I got sick after it was all over and didn't have
a good week after Easter. The first day of the week was St. Patrick's Day
and I made a yummy Irish feast. We colored eggs after Haley's dance
class and the girls had a great time. They wished I had cooked 100
eggs instead of just twelve.
Keeley, you are so cute!
Daddy had a busy day in the field and didn't put on enough sunscreen.
Kayla says, "This coloring thing takes too long."
"Don't look at my hands...they aren't blue I swear."
"Is my egg awesome or what?"
"It says Kayla, can't you read?"
"Mine has stars because I'm a star."

This was our Wednesday activity with Mom's club. They had
an Easter party at the Asing Rec. Center in Ewa beach. The
girls just wanted to find the eggs. They didn't care about any of
the other activities they had or the food...until they saw the
mini corndogs that is.
The balloon flowers/sword they got from the clown guy. I have
to admit, he was a crack up, even for me.

They made Easter bags or puppets. I wasn't sure what they
were supposed to be for.

The egg hunting was the best part. They got tons of eggs.

On Thursday we had playgroup with our friends and did a
brunch and egg hunt at the park in Makakilo. It was the
fastest egg hunt I have ever seen. Those eggs were gone
in just a few seconds. It was a fun morning.

On Saturday we went up to the North Shore for a big egg
hunt at Gunstock Ranch. It is kind of a tradition with us
because the girls get to see some animals and ride the horses
for free. I was excited to have the twins ride the horses this
year since last year we missed it due to a rock slide at Waimea.
I knew they would love it because they play with farm animals
about everyday, the toy ones I mean. I was right of course.
After they got on, Kayla wouldn't stop talking about the horses
for the rest of the coming week. Another tradition with the
egg hunt at Gunstock is the rain. I knew it was going to rain and
without fail, right before they let us in to find the eggs, a down-pour
came at us and soaked us all with rain and mud! We should have
brought umbrellas instead of Easter baskets.
This bunny was bigger than the twins....not really, but looks it.
"Sorry Kayla, can't ride that little horse."
"Is that rain I feel?"
"Hurry Keeley, cover your head with your basket."
"Is this egg hunt done yet mom? I'm tired."
"So tired in fact, I will let Kayla gather the eggs for my
basket as well."
"Did I get enough eggs for you Keeley?"
"Yah, but you should have picked up my shoes too. I don't
like wearing wet muddy slippers."
Haley with her friend Elisha.

The field the older girls were in was a little more rugged.
Kayla was the brave one in the front.

After the egg hunt and horseback riding, we went to have
a picnic and do a little boogie boarding at the Haliewa Beach Park.
Keeley is the brave one here. She is my surfer girl and won't get
out of the water unless I make her. She got on that boogie board
and wouldn't get off. She had such a good time out there with
absolutely no fear at all. Did I mention she is obsessed with
wearing swimming suits every single day?

She is laughing and screaming with joy, not fear!
Kayla's first run she went face first into the sand. She didn't
like that and therefore didn't spend much time on the board.
However, she was fine with eating sand being drowned by the
waves knocking her over. She loved the waves.

After the beach we stopped to get shaved ice...a must!
The girls ate all the shaved ice, but soon after passed out.
They had a really hard day.

Sunday was of course Easter and this is what the girls got. Not
nearly as much candy as last year, but still quite enough. The
first thing they went for were the barbies though. And of course
they had to find the eggs that the Easter Bunny hid around the
living room in their bunny costumes Grandma Leslie sent.
Thanks Grandma for the great costumes.
