I spent some time working in Alaska, which happens to be where I met my husband. I can't explain it, but as miserable as the cold was, I loved Alaska. I loved being on a boat in the open ocean with no land insight. I loved the feeling of the clean air on your face early in the morning. And I loved the incredible sunsets you get up there. If you have never been to Alaska, make it a point to go. I promise you won't be disappointed.
Beautiful Hawaii
Funny, but you can almost never get a bad picture of the ocean or the beaches in Hawaii. This is Waimea Beach up on the North Shore. The north shore was my home for four years and I can't tell you how beautiful it is up there. Seeing the ocean never gets old.
I was born in Oregon and grew up in central California in a place called Clovis. I moved to Hawaii when I was a senior in High School and have been in love ever since. I remember the day I first came to Hawaii. it was the day I moved here with my mother and younger brother. I was sitting on the plane looking out the window and as soon as I saw the island (Maui) I looked over to my mother and said, "Mom, I am home!" It was the first time I really felt like I was home. I knew that Hawaii would be a part of me forever. The beauty, the cultures, the aloha, it is the only way I can describe myself. It defines me as a person. My love for the islands can not be explained. My heart will forever be in Hawaii, in the waters, in the sound of the zebra doves outside my window every morning, in the most beautiful hula, in the smell of the pikake lei. To this day, I have never felt more at home than I do in Hawaii.
