Hanging out with good friends!

While in Denver I got to see a friend I haven't seen
in years.  We used to know each other in Seattle and
we decided to get together and let our girls play while
we got caught up. We sat and talked and the girls had
a blast at a little place called Fun City.  It was so nice
to chat and enjoy some great company.

 Me and Olga.
The same week I also got to hang out with one of
my friends from Hawaii.  She and her family moved
to Colorado Springs this summer and we hung out.
It was strange not being in Hawaii together but still
had a great day.

A weekend trip to Glennwood Springs

We spent the weekend in Glennwood Springs.  It was
a nice drive and the weekend turned out to be a blast.
We went to this place called Glennwood Caverns and
saw a gorgeous cave.  It was a fun hike into the mountain
and the cave was amazing.  The girls really enjoyed
the cool caverns and fairy formations.  It was originally
called the fairy caves because there were formations
on the walls that looked like floating fairies.  At the top
of the mountain they also had rides and activities. We dug
up some fossils and watched others scream from the side
of the cliff ride.  We didn't actually do it though.

Totally inappropriate I know...but the tour guy called
this natural occurring formation in the cavern,
"The Oscar Meyer formation".  Funny right?

We camped out there overnight and it was right next
to a little stream.  The girls just loved playing in the water.

The next morning we went to the famous Glennwood
Springs natural hot springs.  The pool was enormous and
the water is so hot that they have to pump in cold water
just to make it cool enough to swim in.  It was lukewarm
and not really refreshing.  It was a fun day though.  It
was a little like a water park.  They had slides and a
diving board.  The girls could have stayed all day, they
are fish after all.  It was a pretty amazing place to visit.
We all had an enjoyable time there.

Our drive home I had to take a picture.  The canyons
were just mesmerizing to look at.
The traffic coming home was horrendous and it
literally took us two hours to go about twenty miles.
NOT JOKING!  We stopped at the first town we could
and got some dinner.  There was a great (big) pizza
restaurant called Beau Jo's.  Such a fun atmosphere
and good food too.  We finally got home exhausted
and giddy from the super fun weekend.
